Teach them to love fish

Eating fish may possibly be a challenge for you! Certain fish like salmon, mackerel, sardines and trout are full of omega-3 that’s essential for a healthy heart, so they should ideally be eaten once or twice a week.

If you’re not a big fan of fish, select a tasty recipe that masks the taste. For example, you could serve salmon in a spinach béchamel sauce over pasta, in a Thai sauce burger or as a topping on a homemade pizza. Our recipe for Sole Fillets Florentine-Style is excellent to introduce kids to fish.

If you prefer white fish, just remember that they contain no omega-3. However, they have less fat than meat and are a safe bet for the heart!

Just like adults, little ones also feel the need to understand why they do certain things. To help them accept all these new foods, show them the benefits of eating them. Describe to them what the heart is and what it does. Lastly, keep reminding them that eating well will help them to grow healthy.
